Conferences and live events

Esin would be the focus of a particular type of creative event and conference, however Esin cannot fuel a local economy by itself. There will be a regular output of creative material that could form the basis of live events/performance and installations/exhibitions however other incentives will have to be put in place in order to stimulate additional live/event based activity.

Live events such a theatrical & dance performances and music shows depend on audience support which cannot be mandated. Financial support of these types of performance art is often fraught with difficulties. If the public do not want to attend such performances, why should public money be used to support them?

There is a significant creative value in experimental performance art because in some cases the only way to test new ideas and processes is in front of a live audience who are open to experience new work and accept the mistakes that go along with it.

It is not suggested that public finance be diverted to directly support performance art. However when/if individuals or motivated groups try to take their own initiatives to create performance spaces and attract audiences, local administration and facilities should be open and accepting of their goals. That is to say, the desire to create in this way should always be driven by individuals but can be supported by a positive local infrastructure.
